Parque Berrío Metro Station

The Parque Berrío Station is the tenth station of the Metro de Medellín and the tenth on the A line going from North to South. Thanks to its location, it’s the station with the largest volume of passengers in the whole system.

The station is named in honor of Parque Berrio, the square on which it is located. It is from this square that the growth of the city began, though its course has changed somewhat throughout the decades. Here, the chapels Iglesia de la Veracruz and the Basílica Menor de Nuestra Señora de la Candelaria can also be found.

The station, situated above the intersection between the streets Colombia and Bolívar  faces the Nutibara Plazuela, the Palacio de la Cultura, the Museo de Antioquia and the Hotel Nutibara. Next to this hotel, transport to the airport  Aeropuerto Internacional José María Córdova can be found. In this same area, is the Parque Botero, an outdoor museum with the sculptures of Fernando Botero.
